2 Kings 7:3
Now there were four men with leprosy[a] at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other, “Why stay here until we die? 4 If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die.”
5 At dusk they got up and went to the camp of the Arameans. When they reached the edge of the camp, no one was there, 6 for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!” 7 So they got up and fled in the dusk and abandoned their tents and their horses and donkeys. They left the camp as it was and ran for their lives.
How beautiful on the mountain are the feet of those who bring good news
- Isaiah said
God wants me and you
4 outcast, marginalised men to share that the arameans are gone
God chose the foolish and weak to carry His message. God chose to lean on the lepers to carry the news to the besiege nation Samaria
Samaria don't know that the Arameans are gone, they need someone to tell them that Arameans have fled
1. They told what they knew
2. They shared what they had (from absolute poor to wealth)
You have been set free, Jesus was born by the virgin Mary through Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ has set you free by His death on the cross
How can those speak if they have not heard?
What's the worst that will happen?
What's the best that will happen?
Plenty want to keep, but they used the wealth to bless.
God can used the means of the world to bless you. Receiving the riches, blessings of the lord, what he has done. Not holding on but to share
I'm a Jesus follower
I have been blessed
I am in an influenced position to share
The wealth I have, use it for His kingdom
The passport, use it for mission.
Start using what you've got from Jesus. Share it! Given much, much will be asked
Be prepared to give and share ourselves to the lord
The 4 outcast became unlikely heroes in an unlikely situation!
