The purpose of Fatherhood

Genesis 3:1-13
Adam was there with Eve when the serpent was having a conversation with Eve, yet he did not do anything

Purpose of Fatherhood is to be a :

1. Protector
# Men are called to protect like the Father in heaven.
- What happens when the father is passive like Adam's attitude?
- Adam was suppose to teach and instruct Eve, by influencing her well

Genesis 2:15-18
2. Progenitor
# "to beget forth", "originator"

i. God created man to be father - the progenitor of generations

Father determines the types of offspring and influence the progress of the offspring. Father Needs to build a very strong foundation of the family and children, by going deep into the word

ii. Progenitor in fatherhood means you need to produce quality

iii. Progenitor in fatherhood means he is the foundation of the family

To be a progenitor we need to invest eternally
- Ask the holy spirit to help evaluate your life, the current situation you are in

There is a battle that requires the men to rise up

3. Priest
# Pray & Declare God's blessing on your family

Sin is not the greatest hindrance to God, it is the inability to pray
2 chro 7:14

We need to speak to the mountain with authority

Adam aka Fathers today :
Adam did not *lead* while the serpent was tempting Eve.

Adam did not *correct* Eve when Eve had the wrong information about the tree.

Adam did not *stop* Eve when she reached out to pick the fruit

Adam did not *refuse* the fruit when Eve offered him

Adam did not *own* up to his mistake when God questioned both of them regarding the fruit
