Turning trials to Triumphs

By Pastor Edmund Chan
5 keys to turning Trials into Triumph :
1. That which we must face (smack one palm to side of face)
** We must face that difficulties will come. **
That's a reality of life. That which we must face, we must face with the truth that reality will come. We must face that in this fallen and broken world, suffering and difficulties will come.

2. That which we must know (point finger to brain)
** We must know that in the midst of us suffering, there is comfort with God. **

3. That which we must want (point finger to heart)
** We must want the Will of God. **
And there are times when we walk in the centre of God's will, there is affliction. In the centre of God's will does not mean we don't have difficulty but what it means is that we have victory and triumph at the heart of those difficulties. Not what you want, but what God calls you towards. And when you are used to walking in the centre of God's will, you know He's leading because you know I'm in the centre of the Will of God.

4. That which we must do (open both palms facing up)
** We must not rely on ourselves but upon Him. **
I've learnt that although I can solve the problem myself, but if I keep on solving problems my way with my resources, I will never see the grace and the power and the glory of God because I'm trusting upon myself. And then I would recognise that there are some problems in life that money cannot solve, and if I'm so used to solving things upon my own resources, then when I come to problems when the resources cannot solve, the faith collapse. Want the will of God, don't rely on yourself but upon God, then I learn how to follow the way of the Master. I want the Will of God, I come in dependance upon God, I'm there in the centre of your Will.

4 kinds of faith :
3 are pseudo faith (false faith) which is God can (He can but He may not will it), God will (God in His wisdom sometimes do not heal, this is presumptious faith), God must (to say God must is a very dangerous thing like we are spoiled brats)

True faith is saying "GOD IS"

5. That which we must hold fast to (with palms facing up, clench fist)
** We must hold fast to the deliverance of God, that God will deliver. **

Do you know why it is so important to walk in obedience?
Do you know why it is so important to walk in manner pleasing to God?
Do you know why it is so important to want the will of God?
It's because when we walk to please God, when we want the will of God, when we walk in obedience, we develop a track record with God. Not our track record, our goodness or merit. We see God's track record of faithfulness in our lives.
