Big idea:
God desires us to take the next step in disciple making

Matthew 28:16-20
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”


Mature believers should image God in the disciple making

3 moves we need to follow through:
1. We need to move closer to Christ
- in Christlikeness until disciples become disciple makers
- Commit more and more of our lives to the lordship of christ

Matthew 28:19A
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations


2. We need to move deeper

Matthew 28:20A
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you


- "disciple is the process of becoming like Christ in every area of one's being"
*Know
- core beliefs
- how are we growing in God's word?

*Walk
- spiritual practices
- how is our walk with God?

*Relate
- relational discipleship
- how is our love for people?

*Serve
- stewardship
- how are we contributing to the body of Christ?

*Share
- outreach
- how are we sharing God's love with others?

3. We need to move together as a team
- Disciple making is a team event
- be intentional
- in a small group

Matthew 28:19B
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,


Exploring christ
- Curious about God
- See evidence of authentic Christ followers
- have not made decision to follow jesus

Growing in Christ
- new believers
- need to be nurtured
- cultivating spirit filled life

Close to Christ
- Self feeders
- Know where to find help
- Self motivated
- Contribute gifts to god's ministry

Christ centred
- Fully committed to actively represent God
- Not ashamed of gospel
- Are Christ work force
- Willing to advance God's kingdom to fulfil their calling

"When we cease to grow we become old"

Growth is expected to every living being

Jesus move them from disciples to disciple makers
